'Point Last Seen... a road to recovery after childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence' by Ricky Hunter
Ricky, not only have your voice and strides saved your own precious life, they have are prised open the most sinister cervices of our society, demanded a hearing, and worked ceaselessly on strategies and solutions for healing. I have the deepest respect for what you have gained at immense personal cost and what you now so generously share.

Ricky Hunter has lived an intensely difficult life involving childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence and mental illness. Instead of seeing herself as a victim, she is standing tall and choosing to use her experience as a way of helping others. A true hero, indeed!"

Elizabeth Brett once reminded professionals that to understand and describe the experiences of traumatised people, we must stay close. To distance ourselves, to rely too heavily on theory without the personal, is to diminish this ability. Ricky, with her telling of the complex interplay of the past and present, of pain and achievement, of the compelling drive to endure, invites us to come in close.
Faced with exhaustion and a sense that little was real, but with a lingering faith in her self’s existence, Ricky searched for what was long lost. Discoveries of self-knowledge exacted their dues as the debts to soul-life were paid, and emotions and sensations long banished again took up residence, sometimes with ferocity. Despite the unknown, despite the burden of unpredictability, her project of “A time to heal” had the strength of integrity and, with the support of those closest, the search continued and each insight welcomed.
Beverly Raphael said that such stories can only be told when survivors have drawn back from the abyss and are safe, when losses can be accommodated, when a community can be concerned with justice and human rights, and when therapists and others can hear. Ricky Hunter gives us one such opportunity.

Ricky your workshop was such an inspiration, so powerful and thought-provoking. It has been constantly on my mind over the weekend. I am almost finished the book as I could not put it down. What a challenge you have met! And what love you demonstrated for your special son Jonty have been challenged by your faith, which is so incredibly personal and REAL! Thank you again for the best workshop I have ever attended (and there have been lots!). I will certainly be recommending it to others!

I bought the book Point Last Seen written by Ricky Hunter. I would highly recommend it to anyone dealing with clients who have experienced sexual abuse and /or Domestic Violence. Ricky is an amazing lady with a lot of wisdom that she shares with great humility and clarity.
Should you not be able to attend one of her workshops, please get the book and read it. It is an amazing journey that will give you a glimpse into the dynamics of our clients and also provides really good information. Truly a must read. I started it on Easter Sunday and finished it that afternoon. A compelling book that is a wonderful resource for all.

I started reading a week or two ago and found myself both absorbed, unable to stop reading but also not wanting to continue. I did keep going. I feel the pain you felt years ago as I read about it and think I will need to take it quite slowly. Reading today during my commute to work I found myself crying as I stood waiting for the train. I was hurting deeply for you as I read about Mickey and Minnie. I find it so hard to research the work I do outside of my main job and have learned I have to generally not read the real life stories - they hit me too hard. But going on to read about the action plan and the support you found kept me going and restored me. Your writing is real. The story of the stickers on your hand given to you by your GP and how it delighted your inner child…just gorgeous! And what a gorgeous inner child you have/are. She/you shine/s so often in these early pages as you accept with such lovely good will the words of friends and support people. Such beautiful innocence and trust in those who love you! I am only on Chapter 5 as you are flying to NZ but having met you I know you have done so much more than survive.
Words seem inadequate as I struggle with a simple email. So I congratulate you for creating a bookful of them that express so much and elicit so much. Thank you, Ricky. I hope one day to hear or read the stories of the people who have undoubtedly been helped in their journey’s to heal because you had the strength to share yours. Thank you again. You are an amazing woman.

Author of 'The Greatest Power in all the World is in You' and 'Forget the Former', Leigh Allison speaks out what is on her heart...
I'm so privileged to be associated with you, Paulette. You're super-gifted and have made, and are making, the most of God's grace in your life. Truly, I'm in awe! You're like those huge ice-breaker ships that don't let anything stand in their way. Some months ago, the Lord gave me prophetic words about torpedoes from these vessels. The ministry I am in was about to go to England and the spiritual obstacles were being removed. In my mind, I see those pictures now.
I don't know if I would describe my heart's desires as visions just yet. Writing is my calling, I know that for sure. However, I am so burdened by two 'groups' of people.
Our aborigines. It breaks my soul to see them in their brokenness. I want to be in a position to support an aboriginal Pastor or Christian teacher. Jesus only had 12 and the world changed. I'm a white-fella and wouldn't have a clue culturally, but one thing I know, Jesus is the answer. Sometimes I think it doesn't take money. To have a name, e.g. Margaret Court, and pick up the phone and say, "We need a truckload of ... to go to ... , can you help?" I dream of audio-visual stuff for the kids, and so on.
Our farmers: such heartbreak. I pray for them to find secondary industries. One day the Lord dropped into my mind of people teaching them how to do e-books. All they need is a computer, internet and know-how. They have unique knowledge. Their depression is dangerously crippling, and so many suicide.
Oh God, how to reach them? Neither of these things seems possible for me, yet they seem so feasible in principle. So! Those are two things that the Lord hears about from me. Thank you for sharing so freely your dreams, visions, and aspirations.
I appreciate it.

Testimonials for 'The Greatest Power in all the Word is in You...'
What can I say my friend? The Greatest Power in All the World is in You is dynamic. You sure have hit a home run with it as you have not only touched on, but covered, every base in full. For a new Christian, it gives understanding in a very powerful yet simplistic way with amazing depth. For those longer in the walk, it strengthens and solidifies the foundations that may have been weak or damaged and in need of repair. Not one stone unturned…amazing really. I do how you do it (in Jesus) but I still can’t believe it. Leigh,
I can’t wait to give copies to my clients. Your book is the answer, in my opinion, for them to put down a solid foundation of the ‘true’ walk.
